This Is Why You Should Sleep On Your Left Side

A good night’s rest is incredibly important and prevents sleep problems, but the way you sleep can also influence your health. New research shows that people who favor the right side of the bed are crankier than people favoring the left side.

Furthermore, people who prefer the right side tend to be more depressed and have a somber outlook on life. I was curious why, aren’t you?

There are different sleeping positions like sleeping on your back, your left side, right side or on your stomach. All these sleeping positions have an influence on your health and prevent sleep problems. Sleeping on your back can be dangerous for people with sleep apnea or asthma because it can cause breathing issues.

Sleeping on your right side can worsen possible digestive problems, while sleeping on your left side can improve digestive symptoms. What makes sleeping on your left side so important will be explained below.

Try sleeping on your left side!
I never knew this, but sleeping on your left side can improve your health. It can even go as far as to save lives. In holistic medicine the left side of the body is the dominant lymphatic side. This probably means nothing to you, but while you are sleeping on this side your body has more time to filter toxins, lymph fluid and waste through the thoracic canal and lymph nodes.

When you are sleeping on your right side, the lymphatic system can work slower. You do not want this to happen, because a lymphatic system that is not working at full capacity is not capable of filtering toxins or let the lymph fluid flow through the body. This increases the chance of illnesses due to toxin build up. If you start sleeping on your left side you will notice your body releasing more toxins.

This happens because the position you are sleeping in improves the digestion and your body is more capable of releasing the toxins. You will notice that you are sleeping better when sleeping on your left side. Naturally, this will make you look much better the next day!
